Sunbeams cut through heavy cloud onto a mountain valley, scattered lights already on in the towns below.

Those visible shafts of light are called crepuscular rays — they're not actually converging, just parallel beams that look like they're fanning out from one point the same way a straight road appears to narrow toward the horizon.
