A braided glacial river cuts down from a snow-capped peak, forest and logging roads patterning the valley floor.

The pale, braided channel below the snowline is a giveaway of glacial meltwater — it carries so much fine rock flour ground off the ice that the river never settles into one clean course, constantly splitting and rejoining across the valley floor.
